Aluminum can manufacturing process at Abest
At Abest, we adhere to an advanced and stringent aluminum can manufacturing process to ensure the highest quality products reach our customers. This manufacturing process encompasses several critical stages, from blanking, drawing, ironing, washing, drying, printing, varnishing, to quality inspection and packaging. Here are the detailed steps:
- Step 1: Uncoiling & Cipping: Large aluminum coils are fed into the machine, where they are uncoiled and cut into round blanks. These blanks are then formed into cups, creating the initial shape of the can body.
- Step 2: Drawing & Ironing: The cups are stretched into a can shape in the drawing process. The ironing stage uses smooth-walled dies to thin the can walls, ensuring a consistent thickness.
- Step 3: Washing & Drying: The can bodies are washed and dried to remove impurities and metal residues from previous processes, preparing them for decoration.
- Step 4: Printing & Varnishing: The can bodies are decorated with brand designs using high-speed printing machines. After printing, a layer of varnish or lacquer is applied to the exterior, providing additional protection against scratches, fading, and moisture.
- Step 5: Inside Spraying: A thin layer of varnish or other protective coating is applied inside the can to prevent corrosion from the metal and protect the product inside.
- Step 6: Necking & Flanging: The can neck is shaped and narrowed, creating a smaller diameter than the body. The neck is then flanged outward to form a double seam, ensuring a secure seal with the can lid.
- Step 7: Light Testing: The cans are inspected using light sensors. Strong lights and sensors detect any defects such as thin spots, cracks, or pinholes. Defective cans are automatically removed from the production line.
- Step 8: Palletizing: The finished cans are stacked and automatically palletized using an automated system, then transported to the storage area.
